Chuck Norris kept a roof over my head

In memoriam

For a little while in the early ‘90s, when I first got to Hollywood, apparently I was Chuck Norris’s  favorite script reader at Cannon Films.

It was the ‘legendary trash house’ of low budget action pictures. (Read The Rise And Fall of Cannon Films - there was also a 2014 documentary about it.)

Because Norris liked my harsh script coverage (I would point out “We’ve seen this before! Nothing new here!”) he kept requesting me to read scripts submitted to him. Another cool $40 for me.

If I actually liked a script it was worth looking at, I suppose he began to figure. That helped me make my rent.

Thanks Chuck, for all the memories.
